According to CBS News, "the NFL is undergoing maybe the roughest 10 days in the league’s 95-year history." In response, they put together a list of the 7 NFL Good Guys.
New Jersey Foot and Ankle Center in Oradell is more than honored to be hosting #7 on that list, Steve Weatherford from the NY Giants. As Steve said, "6 SUPERSTARS and a punter.... What an honor it is to be on this list with these amazing humans."
The article goes on to say, "Steve Weatherford: The Giants’ punter is recognized nationwide for his philanthropic efforts. Last year he received the Wellington Mara Award, given out by the organization for outstanding community service. Among Weatherford’s charitable work includes several charities in his native Indiana, including Rush the Punter (a 5K run to raise money for early childhood education) and Kicks for Kids (providing shoes to underprivileged kids). Weatherford is also the spokesperson for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Steve Weatherford Charity for Ghana."
Weatherford's efforts with Kicks for Kids is very similar to New Jersey Foot and Ankle Center's Shoes for the Needy Program. Dr. Dan Margolin has donated thousands of pairs of shoes to Bergen County charities. Last fall, he was featured by Pat Battle of NBC News Channel 4 for in the segment Fighting the Good Fight.
Please join Dr. Dan Margolin and Dr. Maryellen Brucato next Friday, September 26th for their Fall Kickoff with Steve Weatherford at New Jersey Foot and Ankle Center. The open house will last from 6:00-9:00 PM and there will be dinner, live music and door prizes. Come to New Jersey Foot and Ankle Center at 550 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell, NJ, 07649.
